The Job Search Preparation Program is built on a holistic intercultural framework that has proved its success over the years, with approximately 70% of our participants gaining the know-how necessary to start the career that they want to have in Quebec. This framework has been developed most specifically to inform new immigrants and members of ethnocultural communities about how to make the best of the work market in your new home. However, it is most beneficial to anyone looking for employment as the ins and outs of the process of finding a job with success are taught and practiced.

Our holistic intercultural approach to employability focuses on specific areas: knowledge of self (what you can offer employers and how you can promote yourself successfully in what you want to do), knowledge of how to navigate the labour market, and knowledge of how to be in the workplace in order to optimize our participants' chances of finding their most ideal job. It works on two levels of development: a group learning experience in the form of workshops for maximum sharing of skills and knowledge between participants, and individual counseling to personalize and maximize what you learn in group workshops.

In this program, you can expect to learn about:

  • Creative job search methods
  • Clarification of career objectives
  • Creation of a career portfolio

  • How to access hidden and open job markets

  • Learn to develop and maintain a useful network of contacts
