Founded in 1963, the League of Rights and Freedoms is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit organization that promotes, promotes and promotes the universality, indivisibility and interdependence of the rights recognized in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. International Charter of Human Rights.

Since its inception, its actions have targeted the entire population as well as certain groups placed, according to different contexts, in a situation of vulnerability: refugees and immigrants, aboriginals, women, persons with functional limitations, persons receiving social assistance, etc.

The League of Rights and Freedoms takes a stand, intervenes with governmental or other bodies, both nationally and internationally, to denounce situations of human rights violations. It carries out information, training and awareness-raising activities aimed at making the rights issues that can be related to all aspects of life in society as widely known as possible.

The League of Rights and Freedoms does not have the resources to defend particular cases.
