Leucan is an association born from the meeting of parents of children with cancer and health professionals. Since its founding in 1978, its mission has been to foster the well-being, healing and recovery of children with cancer and to support their families.


Leucan helps more than 2,100 families

Upon the announcement of the diagnosis, Leucan offers children with cancer and their families throughout Quebec a variety of services adapted to their needs, and at all stages of their journey. Leucan is present in all walks of life in the family, whether in the hospital, at home, at school, in social life or on the public scene, with financial assistance reception, emotional support and accompaniment, information, animation and support in the gaming rooms, massage therapy at the hospital and in the region, social and recreational activities, groups of self-help, school outreach, end-of-life and bereavement services.

Clinical research and advocacy

Leucan is active in the four centers of pediatric oncology in Quebec: the CHU Sainte-Justine, the Montreal Children's Hospital of the McGill University Health Center, the CHUQ Mother-Child Center and the CHUS. It invests nearly $ 1 million a year in clinical research costs and funds the Leucan Information Center at the CHU Sainte-Justine Charles-Bruneau Cancer Center, which serves the entire community.
