Mission

The Dr. Julien Foundation is a social enterprise whose mission is to enable every child from a vulnerable environment to develop their full potential in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. She orchestrates the Dr Julien Foundation Network, made up of certified Community Social Pediatrics Centers (CPSCs). She also accompanies other CPSCs, in the process of being certified. Together, they care, equip and support 4,000 children in vulnerable situations and their families in Quebec today. They offer various medical, specialized, psychosocial and legal services, in a holistic approach and proximity, in complementarity with the community partners.

Description

In addition to raising funds from businesses and the general population, and ensuring sound management, the Dr. Julien Foundation aims to:

  • support the services and programs currently offered in the social pediatrics centers of the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Côte-des-Neiges neighborhoods;
  • develop new projects in social pediatrics in the community;
  • train and teach social pediatrics in community;
  • promote the social pediatrics approach in community with teachers, psychologists, physicians, social workers, psychoeducators, lawyers, judges, police and other professions;
  • raise public awareness of the preventive effects of this approach and its excellent cost / benefit ratio for society;
  • support the deployment of social pediatric centers in other regions of Quebec.

In its actions, ways of doing things and decisions, the Foundation fully endorses the values ​​of community social pediatrics teams, who accompany children in need and help them and their families.
