The mission of the Saint-Michel Environmental Complex is to ensure the treatment, recycling and landfilling of residual materials of the city in respect of the environment and the quality of life of the population.Of an area of ​​182 hectares, this site welcomes several environmental activities, including a recovery center recyclable materials, a composting site for green waste, a power plant and a landfill.


The City of Montréal, through a structured program of relations with the citizens, maintains an open and transparent dialogue. Information meetings are held periodically.

The program also includes an educational component, including public site visits that have already enabled tens of thousands of citizens to learn about the City's efforts to ensure the complex and safe management of the Complex.

With an average duration of 90 minutes, visits are offered by appointment every day of the week from 8 am to 8 pm.
