The mission of CAFLA is to establish partnerships with various public and private institutions, in order to create support links to support young people in the Latin American community and their families to prevent social and family problems such as violence. , dropping out of school, joining street gangs and drug abuse. The organization thus serves as a bridge for the development of projects and the deployment of appropriate support to improve the quality of life of the community in order to promote its full integration into Quebec society.

Founded in 2003 by Mrs. Cecilia Ivonne Escamilla, the Center for Assistance to Latin American Families (CAFLA) is a non-profit and charitable organization registered under the number 85967 7601 RR0001 which operates in the boroughs of Rosemont-La Petite -Patrie, Saint-Michel and Villeray. CAFLA was set up to develop various prevention programs and services for the Latin American community in Montreal. CAFLA's actions promote PREVENTION, EDUCATION and AWARENESS.

Our goal is mainly to help members of cultural communities, particularly those of Latin American origin, to reduce social and family problems. More specifically, our intentions are:

  • Preventing youth violence
  • Preventing domestic violence
  • Intervene with families in difficulty
  • Encourage school perseverance

Sharing: Because we believe that the sharing of our assets and our know-how balances the members of society.

Solidarity: With people in difficulty to improve their quality of life

Respect: To all human beings, regardless of race, language, religion, sex or social condition

Education: We believe that all children have the right to education regardless of their social, cultural or migratory status, as education is not a privilege but rather a recognized right.

Love: Reflecting the love of God through social and community actions

Non-violence: Zero tolerance of violence, because we believe that communication comes first and foremost, for words spoken with wisdom.
