Mission

St. Catherine Community Recreation Center Alexandria is a living environment open to all, without any discrimination, where community recreation is the preferred tool for act in the fields of education, social prevention and health promotion, community action; in an approach that encourages support by the participant and in a global goal of improving the quality of life collective and integral development of the person.

Description

In order to fulfill its mission, the St. Catharine Community Recreation Center in Alexandria has set the following objectives to guide its intervention:

  • Support popular education in collaboration with institutional and community stakeholders.
  • Support the parents in the accomplishment of their actions related to their parental responsibilities.
  • Foster the integration of immigrant families into community life.
  • Promote the prevention of social problems as well as the promotion of health.
  • Offer a range of community recreation activities by encouraging participants to take charge.
  • Foster civic participation and community action.
