Action manpower inc. is a specialized service of workforce (SSMO) funded by Emploi-Québec. His mission principal is to promote the integration and maintenance of employment of people with autism or intellectual disabilities.


Evaluation :

  • Registration (by phone).
  • Reception and assessment of professional skills.
  • Assessment of intellectual potential.


  • Orientation and individual counseling.
  • Personal growth programs related to work (in collaboration with school boards).
  • Employability development.
  • Preparation for use
  • Prospecting with employers.
  • Job search intensive and structured.
  • Assessment of tasks and adaptation of workstations.
  • Presentation to employers.

Integration and maintenance:

  • Possibilities of practical internships in company.
  • Company placement.
  • Negotiation, if required, of financial assistance programs from different levels of government.
  • Presentation and integration in Adapted Work Center (CTA).
  • Follow-up and maintenance.
  • Promotion of the employment of the person with an intellectual disability with businesses, the media and the public.

Criteria and conditions of eligibility

  • Sixteen and over.
  • Autonomy and potential needed for integration into the labor market.
  • Functional knowledge of French or spoken English.
  • Participation on a voluntary basis.
  • Information and documents required for admission.

Our organization (Project-extension The Chestnut tree in its infancy) was created in 1975 by the centers Chestnut, now the Center Gabrielle-Major.
